Oils – luscious colors. Cerulean blue from afghani crushed lapis lazuli, indian yellow from North Carolina, warm and cold, opaque and transparent. The palette is finally clean after three hours of scrapping down the memories of past work and ready for new squeezes. What colors will I find today?
I love color – bright and bold. I am curious about mixing paints and playing in different mediums such as oilpaint, watercolor, acrylic, charcoal and now digital. Photography has always been important to me from high school days and now with smartphone camera’s getting so good, I take more and more photos.

Watercolors – my first attempts at drawing and painting were those using watercolors. No one told me that it was the hardest medium. I love the immediacy and the easy cleanup. Such a mental shift when I paint with watercolors and shift into oils or vice versa.
Always surprised by the outcomes from drawing and painting from honest observation. Why do still life’s move? Why do the walls of the building undulate for days following intense looking?
